Our products are cast with two layers of a specialised white Die Stone mix, which provides exceptional strength. (approximately 16,000 psi compared to cement at 11,000 and plaster at 2,000). The extreme hardness of this material ensures the product is very durable and can easily withstand regular wear and tear.

The stone is totally non-combustible and doesn’t require a set-back distance making it ideal for even the hottest fireplaces.

This stone mix is supported with a backing layer of fiberglass, to give the product tensile strength.

Finally, to provide additional compressive strength to the mantel, the core is filled with a thermal insulating foam. This allows the mantel to be solid, but still remain a relatively light product.

All our mantels are coated, in our workshop, with a clear satin concrete sealer.
